I know London pretty well and yes, there's extreme poverty there too. There seems to be an effort to turn parts of it into a Midas ghetto for the very wealthy and shunt anyone that doesn't fit that bill into either poor areas or out altogether whilst their properties are snaffled up to sell or rent at silly prices.

George Osbourne's London vision is of a rich elite at the centre with a service economy powered by low paid workers commuting in at great cost to cater for them.
