I see that Tory f*cker Nick Robinson is already abusing his position at the BBC to start setting the right wing anti union scaremongers on the guy!

The Coalition will no doubt take any opportunity to smear him as an old school Luddite Socialist, in thrall to the unions, much like the Thatcher administration did with Michael Foot. I'm not sure the mud will stick so easily this time round though - the Tories have a much slimmer majority than they had in the 80s, and people are (as Mooncat points out above) getting more cycnical about the side effects of unfettered free-market capitalism thanks to the recession. Plus he's somewhat younger and more charismatic than Michael Foot.

Yeah, Pickles has certainly got the colouring more than Milliband, but he certainly reminds me of some play-dough typre creation! Something from the *70s* I think, but def not Morph. x

Wouldn't it be just brilliant if he now announced he was an atheist? That would quite possibly make my week!

Hope yr right, but I think they are really going to go for him! Personally, I think there's a case for not trying to pander to the centre right media and marginal swing voters anymore - I reckon it's time someone said "this is what I believe, and this is why I'm right" - actually try and win the argument from a strong ideological position. To be honest I even respect Tories who do that (although I'm unlikely to agree).

Seeing and listening to him more and more, he's a bit...wet. Not much clarity in his voice, and no command at all. A bit slurry. Christ, Cameron has that more 'authority' in that regard than him. How reassuring is that? Perhaps Ed needs to get his adenoids removed, or something. I remember a few wee boys from school getting that done coz they 'spoke through their noses', sounding like they had a permanent cold. x
