No it isn't, it's still happening NOW, and unless we stop them it will go on indefinitely, at the very least they should all be castrated!!! A priest abuses over 100 children and just gets moved to another parish and obviously abuses many more!!!! Absolutely fucking sick!!! Its them or us because i would rather die than share the planet with the sick nonce's anymore.

I recently read a book called 'The God Squad' by Paddy Doyle.
Sent to a nun-run Industrial School in Cappoquin aged four as a 'criminal' child because his parents committed the sin of suicide and maybe dad not really his dad. Shocking don't begin to describe it.
Abuse he suffered left him paralysed (was beaten for 'pretending' he had mobility problems, sexual abuse also).

Thing is, these are (technically at least)'women'. They bleed once a month, it reminds them they are human but they don't want to 'acknowledge' that.
Same thing with priests. They got this donger so look for an outlet where they get to keep up the facade of chastity.

Now, if I believed in God and cared about him, I'd hate all these bastards.
Doesn't happen though, does it?

Worse thing here is doesn't matter if there are some good or some bad, the Irish govt and other institutions were for years wholly complicit in covering this up. A conspiracy of silence of the worst kind.

Many are hoping for prosecutions now. We'll see.

I agree with you wholeheartedly morally, but, you know, re. your Irish/Global conspiracy rant, Small... Far Away. Small ...Far Away. Book yourself a lovely massage and relax more. It's an evil minority running an ignorant majority that it at last getting truly kicked into touch!

From a collapsed minor anglo- Catholic Stone Hugger.

Hmmm.

If this ain't worth ranting about, then nothing is tbh.

I didn't mention it was a 'global' thing, btw. However, as stated, other orders eleswhere were truly aware, complicit.

This is the website of the guy I mentioned. And yes, he does get the odd 'don't be pestering us now' with such truths.

You are quite right morally, obviously, but it's not endemic and solely Irish Catholicism, although some elements are the worst offenders for sure, and should be dealt with likewise. My point is, so many other institutions are equally guilty of this level of abuse to some awful degree. I think that that many other 'systems' from English Public Schools to other Religious Dogmas are suspect . There's no degrees or difference to insidiousness.

Absoloutely. And we'll probably never really learn of it all.

What is more frightening when 'religion' and abuse is involved is the added element of psycological conditioning along the lines of 'I am doing this to you because God tells me you deserve it, and guess what, he can send you to hell if he chooses'.

As much as I am sure most within that church utterly condmen this, I doubt we'll hear very much from them.

A long time ago I saw a TV programme about priests in South America that were guilty of child abuse but it had all been 'hushed up' by the Catholic Church and all that had happened to them was that they were moved from one parish to another. I think any organisation with as much money and power as the Catholic Church is bound to be corrupt. It really is quite scary the power that certain religious orders have. Of course it's not Just the Catholic Church though, I mean what could be safer than a pre-school in Devon? Wasn't though, was it? This dispicable behaviour can, unfortunately, happen anywhere. No wonder people are so paranoid nowadays.

I don't think the 'God' involvement is any better or worse than when it isn't present, i.e. in the case of those monstrous people in the paedophile ring centred round the pre-school in Devon. It's not WHY this abuse occurs, it's the fact that it occurs at all.

Is there separation between Church and State in Ireland? I presume there is a Constitution. I see a gradual diminishing of the Church there, which may have started off by Father Ted - an Ecumenical matter naturally.
