Clark is anti-war now that he's running for the dem nomination, but he was supporting it and praising Bush while it was going on.

Like I said, he's a "tell the people what they want to hear" candidate. Flips & flops & spins til you don't know what he really stands for.

So far his only real "stand" has been: "I'm an electable democrat (and Dean isn't)."

Isn't he the only one of the candidates who has & made a clear anti-war stance. Could be worth a vote if he has. Could be interesting with a democratic candidate who is well to the left of a Labour Party leader over the other side of the pond.

Now just who will Blair support. Not that he can vote & is a long distance away, but I can't see the usual Democrat/British Labour Leader back slapping on this one.

Yeah, but Clark is obvoiusly a hawk. He supported the war initially. And anyways his foreign policy sounds as fascist as Bush's.

Kucinich is running #8 out of a field of 9. He probably drops out after the first couple of primaries. Don't think it's going to be an issue.

No surprise if it's true...

I hadn't heard that (rumour Blair donated to Bush.)

I would think Blair & Clark would probably get along very well (Blair-Clinton all over again.)

Blair might get along well with Dean too (he and Blair both strike me as sort of "charming & vacuous opportunists.")

I must say, there's really no one out there I would feel good about voting for this time!

I don't believe Blair made a direct donation to Dubya's campaign. I'm fairly sure there are rules preventing that.

I think the allegation was that the recent State Visit was electioneering at the expense of the UK tax-payer (most of it shouldered by London council-tax payers). In that sense, it can be argued that it was a (very large) _de facto_ campaign contribution.

Yeah, I got that. I'm sure there were questions asked (although whether that was in parliament or on question time, I'm not sure - or I could've imagined the whole thing).
