It looks like Jan Brouwer visited the Tarbolton barrow site in 2007.
I wonder if the 'river god' is actually a representation of Alexander Peden the 17th Cent preacher? as you probably know there is Peden's Cove by the river Ayr near Failford, so its maybe somewhere in the gorge around there.
