well don't ask me, I am constantly reminded that I'm 'technically challenged' ;) but I suspect it is underground, though of course with such rocky terrains in Scotland it could well be overground....

It would be a very technical job to dig trenches up hill and down glen to lay underground cables...I wonder if overground pipes to carry cables have been laid?...I haven't seen such...So it would make a sort of sense to "wire up " to existing pylons...which negates an earlier post as we now have both of these structures striding the land like an invasion of skeletal behemoths.
