'Moments of Peace' (or that time of year again)
Nov 29, 2010, 22:54
Had a great stony summer - kicked off in April with a fabulous week in west Cornwall with my dearest of all friends; getting lost looking for the Merry Maidens (only we could do it) then finding Boscawen-un with no trouble at all.

Summer spent around the Cotswolds - walking, looking for/finding barrows, monoliths - just one stone circle, the Rollrights.
Visited Stanton Drew and Stanton Harcourt for the first time.
Found Mother Anthony's Well and Woolstone springs.
Bringing some of it back here for inspection; encouragement received from many kind people who I won't embarrass by naming.

Aware that all was not well in cyber-land - tried to do the 'right thing', a thankless endeavour indeed, although have heard say, integrity is its own reward.

And here we are, that time of year again - in the often dispiriting world we live in, perhaps this may help. Received a catalogue today from the Inner Bookshop in Oxford - with a list of dvds by Hamish Miller.
The one that caught my eye was Moments of Peace - looks like an attractive meditation 'mind-space' dvd using Avebury, Boscawen Un,the Hurlers, the Merry Maidens, the Nine Maidens and the Trippet Stones. In the bleak midwinter - you can stay at home and let your mind travel ...
