About ?

Sorry that I didn't answer more fully last night as I was knackered and off to bed!

As I mentioned before, it is all about historical context, unlike the recent trend for Viking revisionism. To decribe on them as being solidly Xenophobic in the modern fashion is inaccurate. There were periods as we know, ie. the late period when they were under constant threat of invasion, where they were militarised, but for such a huge expanse of time in which Ancient Egypt existed, it's track record by the standards of the day makes them a highly admirable and cultured society in regard to their contemporaries. The exact opposite of Rome, the aggressive machine and cultural magpie.

The charge was of Bronze Age xenophobia not of being warlike which is what the links refer to . The earlier links links refer to the xenophobia .

Well, we'll agree to disagree because I still think it's an inappropriate summation myself.

Anyway, I'm going to be off line for a few weeks. Take care, and everyone else on the MA and see you again soon.

Bye!
