Being a climber/mountaineer/hillwalker I feel ther are no features that grip the heart like mountains.
My area is the Lakes, ther is nowhere like it, but the wilds of the Scottish Highlands keep pulling me, especially in winter.
"I will lift up my eyes unto the hills, from whence commeth my strength."
I defy anyone not to be deeply moved by a day of sunshine and storm on a lonely ridge, or a clear night spent wandering the hills, with the stars bright against an inky sky. It on occasions like that that the feeling of the place brings a person to search their soul.
