Just finished reading 'Before Scotland' - 'the story of Scotland before history' by
Alistair Moffat. I believe that the book is just newly published and I thought that I'd recommend it to anyone interested in prehistory.
It is quite unusual in that it is very informative and educational while at the same time providing a very entertaining read.
Anyone unaware of Alistair Moffat, he is a well known Scottish media/historian and he has produced a couple of TV/book tie-ins previously, 'The Sea Kingdoms' and 'The Borders', but I'm not sure whether they were only for the local Scottish market.
Do not despair my anglo/saxon/norman chums although the title says Scotland it could be quite easily be changed to Britain and Ireland.
Some good stuff on Doggerland.
Yip .... that's what I thought!!!!
Read it and find out.
