'Drunken Skiers off Piste' is a fantastic track, one of my favourites on the record. Well done, sir!

Marvellous, isn't it?!

Again I wonder if Julian had The Fall in mind there? Title-wise at least, it makes a fine trilogy with MES' 'Australians in Europe' and 'British People in Hot Weather'

Mine slapped reassuringly on my doormat the other day. Postal service has been a bit funky round these parts of late.

"Robin Hood" certainly IS a "Julian Cope" album. Wanting to play the contents of the CD in my car, I ripped the CD to my computer and it auchtermatically saved it under "Julian Cope" in my Music Library. When I clicked on that folder it opened up "Robin Hood"... so Copey must have injected the disc with some kinda invisible "Julian Cope" identification data which we mortals cannot see. I have just double checked the music files and the esteeemed Mr Cope IS listed there as "contributing artist" on each track.

It was an enjoyable listen all the way from the upper reaches of the Cairn Water near Moniaive right back to Lanark. I found it a very mixed bag.

Mine awaited on the doormat yesterday & have given it a couple of spins. Skin Up is an absolute belter. If anyone else attempted to put that on record it would be a shambles at best. JC still surprises & delights. Was hearing Inspiral Carpets’ ‘…Lonely’ on one track, just me, or?

Mine hasn't arrived yet (bloody Royal Mail, I'm only in Somerset!) does anyone have a track list?

Here ye go!

Phase One
JULIUS GEEZER
FOUR MOHAMMEDS & A FUNERAL
THE DEVIL'S CURSE
PROPHET
DRUNKEN SKIERS OFF PISTE
THE DEATH OF DEATH
DON'T YOU WANNA JUST SKIN UP?
ODIN IN LINDISFARNE
TIME & A NEW UNDERSTANDING

Phase Two
CHARLES THE TURD
WRONG SIDE OF THE BED
AN ORAL HISTORY OF BLOWJOBS (Medley)
BALLAD OF FAT PAUL
STOP MONKEYING WITH MY HEART, YOU BIG GORILLA
I WAS A PUNK BEFORE YOU WAS A HIPPIE

Thanks for that. The local sorting office have been banging on about being short staffed and training up new flesh, ALL YEAR, and despite getting some post yesterday, on a Sunday, they've yet to deliver this. The whole town (Yeovil, Somerset...fill in your own punchline) is only getting sporadic Royal Mail deliveries, some streets 2-3 times a week, others don't get any for 2-3 weeks, absolutely ridiculous.

Anyway, cheers for the track list, the excitement levels are still at 11!

Anyone know the origin of the angry sun symbol / green man carving pictured in the CD booklet?
It looks kinda familiar but I can't quite place it

Had a few listens to the album, and aside from the tracks that start and finish off Phase 1 , which are too short to really go anywhere, just teasers, and not really getting into Ballard Of Fat Paul and Stop Messing With My Heart You Big Gorilla, I thought all of the other tracks were fantastic, which is why I listened to it three times, straight through. Phase 1 in particular is excellent. A fine 8/10 effort and I thoroughly recommend it.
One thing though...why only include SOME of the lyrics, and not all? I've noticed this with other Cope albums, and some of us old gits went to too many loud gigs in the past, so can't always pick up every word, or can't remember them, so the lyrics are extremely useful to have, especially when Julian obviously invests a lot of time and effort into them.

Poor Leavers. Nothing's ever their fault, is it?
