Sonic Flower – Rides Again. Japanese band doing one of those almost-too-perfect impressions of groovy 70s hard rock. Nice in short bursts though: https://heavypsychsoundsrecords.bandcamp.com/album/sonic-flower-rides-again

Onsegen Ensemble – Fear. Flagged before, but this is really rather good in a cinematic/ritualistic heavy psych/post-rock vein: https://onsegenensemble.bandcamp.com/album/fear

Northwest – II. Ditto, in a neo-classical Talk Talk vein ;-) https://thisisnorthwest.bandcamp.com/album/ii

Robert Calvert – Hype. I’ve foolishly never really listened to this much, but at a long remove from my teenage Hawkwind years (when I originally got it), I now realise it’s actually a rather brilliant mix of power pop and electro-rock, with clever and witty lyrics throughout (as you’d expect). And it sounds like Luke Haines has based his entire post-Auteurs career on this track: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jvn4ce-5VM8

Groundhogs – Live: UK Tour ’76. Despite thinking of myself as a pretty serious Groundhogs fan, I’ve never really listened to much beyond 1974’s Solid. This is, as the name suggests, from the tour they did around 76’s Crosscut Saw album, after the band split ;-) and then reformed with two guitarists. It’s pretty good, particularly the new material, though there’s a truly horrible version of ‘Cherry Red’ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O5wxtMUzteE&list=OLAK5uy_kmg33P02rp2R3W_oeAJVzrVGClcMMu6Ts

Black Sabbath – Vol 4.

Kala – After Quintessence: The Complete Kala Recordings 1973. Strange mix of pub, country, psych and blues rock, but still with some new age/spiritual leanings. Mostly negligible, except this track, which is great: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lH9tUU_wKIw
