Found an old Peel compilation tape from about 1980/81 whilst rooting about which I was surprised to find still sounds pretty good quality, so bits of that informed this weeks listening.

Bill Nelson - Quit Dreaming and Get On The Beam/ The Love That Whirls...
The track 'Do You Dream In Colour' off the above tape inspired me to dig out some more stuff by Bill. I'm not his biggest fan, but did enjoy the above records more than I thought.

Bauhaus - Bela Lugosi's Dead 12"

Lemon Kittens - We Buy A Hammer For Daddy.
Not my fav' band, thigh this does get the odd spin years apart. Still as fractured and weird as I recall.

Various - The Some Bizarre Album
I played this to death back in the day. It was the album that divided 'those in the know' from normal pop nerds back in my school days. Still a fine comp of bands of the era, some who went on to be more famous (The The, Soft Cell, Depeche Mode, Blancmange, B-Movie) and some who pretty much ended up MIA.

Cup - Spinning Creature
I bought this a while ago, but only just got around to playing it. Has some guy from Wilco and his missus. Wow, what a great record. Kinda reminds me of
a more electronic version of David Thomas (Pere Ubu) solo albums crossed with Tarwater/Tortoise/For Carnation. Enjoying it a lot.

Frankie and the Witch Fingers - Monsters Eating People Eating Monsters
This is a fun listen, enjoying this muchly, mostly cos' of the crunchy dampened guitar sounds and lush delay vibes on some tracks. Think I've an earlier album by them called 'ZAM' somewhere too, but can't find it right now. Not as good as the Monsters record as I recall tho.

John Foxx - Metamatic 3 CD
I'd not really taken the time to read the lyrics to Metamatic, even though I've owned it fer 40 years, but glad I have, cos' I've been singing them wrong fer years :) Oddly for such a 'clinical' album, it probably some of John Foxx' most beautiful and evocative wordplay.

Primitive Knot - Unholy Grails
Occult obsessed lofi Manchester metal motorikers make a strangley enjoyable racket, well to my ears. https://primitiveknot.bandcamp.com/album/unholy-grails There's also a glut of shonky none essential covers up on their bandcamp page which I kinda like too. Orgone Accumalator... https://primitiveknot.bandcamp.com/track/orgone-accumulator-hawkwind
Metal Dr Who theme anyone.... https://primitiveknot.bandcamp.com/track/dr-who

That's about it. Keep Well Everyone!
