Action Time Vision: A Story Of Independent UK Punk 1976-79 – V/A
Like a lot of people my age, I was in a punk band when I was sixteen. We were together on and off for a year or so and though we never actually gigged anywhere we had great fun rehearsing even if we were sometimes in a freezing cold local garage. Over the years I would occasionally bump into some of the other lads but last saw the singer Paul about 15 years ago and we had a good natter. Anyway, the reason I am writing this now is that Paul has sadly passed away. Like I said, I haven't seen him for years but will treasure some happy memories. As he introduced me to some punk singles I hadn't heard, such as X Ray Spex's Oh Bondage Up Yours which is still one of my favourite singles ever, it seemed appropriate to listen to some old punk after I had heard the sad news x
