Lux Prima – Karen O / Dangermouse
Quite possibly my album of the year so far. Fab.

Henry May Long – Max Richter
Some rather moving music on this.

Quo – Status Quo
I watched Hello Quo again this week. It's a rather decent if hurried account of the band, from the beginning to their early 70's peak an then the long slow decline where they became a pale imitation of their former selves as far as I am concerned. The clip at the end where the four original members re-unite for a surprising run through In My Chair demonstrates all too well what they lost when Coughlan and Lancaster left. Even after all those years apart there was a natural chemistry. Anyway, I put on my old copy of the 1973 Quo LP which is evidence of how big a loss Lancaster was. He wasn't just a bassist. He co-wrote much of this album with Parfitt. In fact, there are only two tracks on the album that he didn't have a hand in writing.
