Amon Duul ii - Yeti and Tanz der Lemminge Got a bit of an Amon Duul thing going lately, never really got into them in a big way. Now I'm enjoying the ride. King Crimson - Live In Vienna (3CD) Saw them recently at The Palladium, and they were astonishingly good. This set isn't that recent, but it is a great recording of a great band in full flow. Will have to get some more of these live sets. Robert Fripp - Let The Power Fall Really enjoyed re-visiting this. Great late night listen. Osibisa - S/T and Woyaya Bringing some sunshine to these gloomy November evenings. Acid Mothers Temple & the Melting Paraiso U.F.O - Iao Chant From the Melting Paraiso Underground Freak Out Title says it all really. The Fall - Bend Sinister Still can't quite believe Mark has pegged it. Vinyl: Various - The Three Seasons (the spring, summer and autumn of love) Entertaining 3 album set on Fruits de Mer, including gems like Anton Barbeau doing Sunshine Superman and The Electric Prunes doing 7 and 7 is. Hey Colossus - Black and Gold Up until now I've been a bit *shrug* about Hey Colossus, but something someone said about them this week triggered something for me, and on revisiting I'm really enjoying them. Must get more. Domboshawa - Beyond Vibrations Brilliant double album on Drone Rock Records - lovely gatefold and vinyl colours. And it sounds pretty amazing too - long psychedelic guitar pieces which creep into your brain and feed your ears. Acid Mother Temple - Reverse of Rebirth In Universe Another gorgeous set - green vinyl and fab cover. I guess this is a bit of a departure for AMT, a bit more light and shade maybe? Great record. Melting Hand - Faces of Earth Can't beat a bit of Melting Hand when you want to mong out. The Oscillation - Wasted Space I found their last release quite interesting, but it didn't grab me like this one has. Electronic and psychedelic, yet still with an accessible groove. Frank Zappa & the Mothers of Invention - Freak Out. First time I've heard this, and lovin the doo wop and Zappa 60's production Francis Bebey - Psychedelic Sanza Flashes - S/T, Rzhev Ill - We are Ill. Girlband indy/punk upstarts. Quite good really Daniel Blumberg - Minus. Think Thom Yorke on piano going through a particularly troubling time! Goldie - Rings of Saturn Gong - Flying Teapot. Not listened to this much. Have a growing appreciation of Dave's eccentricities Gang of Four - Entertainment. This is growing on me after only a handful of listens too A Guy Called Gerald - Essence Go go Penguin - v2.0 Grails - Burning off Impurities Faith No More - Sol Invictus & The Real Thing Funkadelic - Hardcore Jollies Goatgirl - S/T Gnod - Infinity Machines Gonzales - Uber Alles Goldfrapp - Felt Mountain

Zofff – IV (Live in Brighton, 2017). Psych/kraut/cosmic improvising unit led by guitarist Bic Hayes (Cardiacs, Levitation etc) captured live, the kicker being that the performance featured Terry Bickers, the first time he and Hayes had played together since Levitation split in 1993. Pretty great and surprisingly cohesive stuff: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWdQVO-6IVo Jah Wobble – The Butterfly Effect. Oh, I didn’t realise quite how angry and post-punky Wobble had become again after his ethno-dub-jazz years. Good album and some fine wordage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vINL8S9BFao The Jinsy Boys – Tvignest. This Is Jinsy – like the Mighty Boosh set on Craggy Island – completely passed me by when it was on (mainly because it was on Sky Atlantic), but it’s a worthy addition to the canon of surreal British comedy. This is a spin-off album. Some funny songs, and the Wicker Man-esque pagan folk is impressively spot-on: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55yfkfw2Cm4 Transmaniacon – The Strange World Of Suzie Pellet. Talked a good game – Blue Oyster Cult, Mountain, Frumpy etc – but is actually a pretty dreadful combo of 80s power metal and 90s industrial. VA – MOJO Best Of 2018. No real clunkers, and all perfectly pleasant, and it’s made me want to check out the Idles album… Hedvig Mollastad Trio – Smells Funny D. Rothon – Nightscapes Ouzo Bazooka – Transporter The Dandelion Set – A Thousand Strands. As inspired by the Buried Treasure comp from last week. Ghost Box/Broadcast fans should definitely give this a listen: https://buriedtreasure.bandcamp.com/album/a-thousand-strands Yeti Lane – L’Aurore Hintermass – The Apple Tree The Moody Blues – To Our Children’s Children’s Children. Such an odd band. There’s some genuinely rocking and innovative psych here, but also loads of lachrymose MOR too, like the music from some Sunday evening trendy Christian show from the 70s. VA – To The Outside Of Everything (CDs 1 & 2)

Alien Sex Fiend - Possessed This is fab! Waaaay better than you could possibly expect from a band that's been around fer 30 odd years. If you enjoyed their debut 'Who's Been Sleeping In My Brain' from 83', this is almost it's natural heir, same great sounds and vibes, same daffy lyrics, same OTT image. Good to know Nik and Mrs Fiend haven't lost their chops. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8SwPNkjTMPc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHE8njc5Oao Dead Gurus - Acid Bench Groovy fuzz fest heavy heavy heavily influenced by Spacemen 3 Blancmange - Wanderlust Still spinnin' still lovin' Near Future - Ideal Home See above. Kinks - Village Green 50th Deffo love the Kinks more than The Beatles. Bowie - Diamond Dogs The men - Hated Early demos in an PUNK style. Good stuff...certainly better than their 'country' record. Discharge - Hear Nothing See Nothing There is a 4 CD Discharge box just been released fer no money. Was a big fan back in the day, this album I haven't played for over a decade or more, and it's every bit as good as I recall. FSOL - Archive 9 Better hit rate in terms of great sounds on this than a few of the Archive series. Various - Sammlung Elektronische Kassettemusic, Dusseldorf 82-89 Great album of, well electronic cassette music from 82-89. Mind yoU, Burea B put out a lot of good shit. Current 93 - The Light Is Leaving Us Better than usual C93 releases. Now Tibet's voice is a little older, it's a lot less annoying than it used to be. Really enjoying this. Same apocalyptic mentality, but hey, y'know what your getting with a C93 album, more or less. alb...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FW9_JCkfOqk&list=PL4LQv-UIpzAm3YHIQPDws4FROJ_k_SeXS Cope - Rite At ya Beak - >>> Still all good here. Anyways, that's about it. Have a good one.
