Hours... – David Bowie
Weird to think that this, one of Bowie's last albums, is now almost 20 years old. It was a return to him making a 'Bowie' album after the more experimental Outside and the D&B-ish Earthling. Some people didn't like that, they wanted him tackling something new again, but it's a strong set with Something In The Air standing out this week.
World's Strongest Man – Gaz Coombes
One of the most enjoyable albums I've heard this year.
Negative Capability - Marianne Faithfull
Technically her voice sounds a bit shot at times, it works well here on material from the likes of Nick Cave and Mark Lanegan. Her new version of As Tears Go By has an added poignancy - “This is the evening of the day” indeed. Reminds me of latter day Leonard Cohen.
