Stina Nordenstam - And She Closed Her Eyes

The Underground River - Nocturama: Vistas Of Sombre (one of Cope's last Address Druidon recommendations, and well worth checking out on Bandcamp. Can't believe it hasn't been picked up by a proper record label. Such a classic.)

of Arrowe Hill - 1914-1918 (4 years in the making, this EP to mark the centenary of WW1 is finally complete, and very effective it is too).
of Arrowe Hill - A Few Minutes In The Absolute Elsewhere

Black Sabbath - Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
Black Sabbath - Sabotage
Black Sabbath - Technical Ecstacy

Scott Walker - 'Til The Band Comes In
Scott Walker - The Moviegoer
Scott Walker - Any Day Now

Paul Simon - Paul Simon

Elton John - Don't Shoot Me I'm Only The Piano Player
Elton John - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road

The Beatles - White Album 50th Anniversary Box Set (remarkable how Giles Martin's remixes add extra punch you didn't know was available, although Wild Honey Pie sounds even more weird now. Just a shame the 11 minute version of Revolution 1 is Take 18, which lacks the unhinged overdubs added for take 20, as leaked online a few years back).

Cardiacs - Obvious Identity
Cardiacs - Toy World
Cardiacs - Archive Cardiacs
Cardiacs - The Seaside

Kraftwerk - Radio-Activity

Thompson Twins - Quick Step & Side Kick (revisited out of pure nostalgia, but always surprises me how inventive and surprisingly miserable much of it is. 'If You Were Here' is still lovely).

Bee Gees - Horizontal

The Beatles - White album 50th/Sgt Peppers 50th
really enjoying these. Much like those Doors anniversay mixes, they do actually sound different to what I recall (though truth be told, neither get massive rotation around these parts, though I like em' well enough)

Kinks - Village Green....50th
The sessions disc is quite nice, There was a nice docu on Sky Arts last night about it, though could have done with the numerous talking heads....the band stuff was much more interesting. https://www.sky.com/watch/channel/sky-arts/the-kinks-echoes-of-a-world/episodes/season-0/episode-1

Hendrix - Electric Ladyland 50th
Extras is a sub standard concert......why bother.

Stones - Beggars 50th
Probably the measliest of the 50th anniversary stuff I've come across. Just the album, plain and simple....don't think the mix even sounds as good as the SACD I picked a few years ago (but then it wouldn't would it).

(Bit of a theme developing eh! Didn't buy the above, my pal sent me links to listen to them, I own at least three of the albums 2 or 3 times already).

Ladytron - Light and Magic

Constantines - Shine A Light

Fujiya Miyagi - S/T
EP's comp I picked up on ebay for about 3 quid. Had a couple on Bandcamp DL's but it's nice to have them all. Still a good as ever, track 5 my fav, nice lyrics inna LCD Soundsystem kinda way about their declining popularity since 2006. https://fujiyamiyagi.bandcamp.com/album/fujiya-miyagi
Track 5 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fnxkNFbuJsE

Julian Cope - St Julian
Thought i'd replace my tired vinyl wit ha CD at long last. Still think it's a mighty fine record, even though it's kinda thought of as his commercial period. Remember seeing him on tour for this at Birmingham Powerhouse with a now long lost ex....great show...loved the T-shirt too, the Warwick bear with wings in a planet (I think it had the Nietzsche quote Battle ye not.... underneath to, though maybe not).

Gong - You

Broadcast - Noise Made By

Beck - Mellow Gold

Jane Weaver - Silver Globe/Amber Light twofer
Picked this up t'other week. Had a promo of Silver Globe I got fer a couple of quid years ago, but the twofer with Amber Light album is well worth the price. Hadn't heard 'Amber' before, think I prefer it to Silver Globe truth be told.
Amber - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_mbLrr2JjMGhJcL5uPW2wgYUCt2TuEvC94

Foetus - Gash
This has to be the worst mixed/mastered album by Foetus I own. Awful mix that seems to be centre weighted, non of the usual bombast and dynamics I love about ole' Jim...can barely hear the frikkin' lyrics. I come back to it every few years hoping it isn't as bad as I remember.... sadly it always is.
Gash - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65LWiKkvMfo&list=PLEdQ6TBxXyAOy4FF0jsgkEFVzlBLkUIMN

Blancmange - Wanderlust
After loving the Neil Arthur project 'Ideal Home' it was a no brainer to pick this up. Fecking superb album, not like the Blancmange of old (which I'm also massively fond of) this is a much darker beast. Has John Foxx conspirator 'Benge' at the controls, so you've a rough idea of the analogue lovelyness/edginess you're in for. http://www.blancmange.co.uk/
http://spillmagazine.com/spill-album-review-blancmange-wanderlust/

Anyhow, that's about it. Down to see the nipper at uni in Winchester next week, can't wait :) Have a good en'!

I really like F&M and this is really enjoyable. Played it a lot when I got it. Gonna dig it out again - but will go to the link straight away. I love that one!

Hours... – David Bowie
Weird to think that this, one of Bowie's last albums, is now almost 20 years old. It was a return to him making a 'Bowie' album after the more experimental Outside and the D&B-ish Earthling. Some people didn't like that, they wanted him tackling something new again, but it's a strong set with Something In The Air standing out this week.

World's Strongest Man – Gaz Coombes
One of the most enjoyable albums I've heard this year.

Negative Capability - Marianne Faithfull
Technically her voice sounds a bit shot at times, it works well here on material from the likes of Nick Cave and Mark Lanegan. Her new version of As Tears Go By has an added poignancy - “This is the evening of the day” indeed. Reminds me of latter day Leonard Cohen.

Also...
Forgiveness 7” - Emma De Angelis

Please Please Me – The Beatles

America Is My Home 7” – James Brown

Chris - Christine & the Queens

Songs Of... - Leonard Cohen

The Sun, Moon & Herbs – Dr John

Seven Disquieting Dirges - Dope Feat. Fuck Authority

Rhythms – Goatman

In A Broken Dream 7” - Python Lee Jackson

If You Can Believe Your Eyes & Ears – The Mama's & The Papa's

Fin – Mogwai

I'm Throwing My Arms Around Paris 7” - Morrissey
All The Young People Must Fall In Love 7” - Morrissey

God Like Splash - Mother

You Don't Have To Be In The Army... - Mungo Jerry
Boot Power – Mungo Jerry
Long Legged Woman – Mungo Jerry

Cloak & Dagger – Lee Scratch Perry & the Upsetters

Black Album – The Stranglers
The Gospel According To Meninblack – The Stranglers

Lonely Avenue 7” – Marty Wilde

Watching You Watching Me – Bill Withers

Yeah, I had a listen to this too. Obvs no Broken English, but its a good effort that I enjoyed playing through. Her voice is deffo not what it was, but it sits well within the music/tunes.

I was collecting the EP's through bandcamp and on 12". When I heard it was gonna get a CD release I sadly forgot about the last one or to of em' till I saw you mention it a few months back. Nice V&A-ish type style fold out CD cover. Always enjoyed F&M anyhow, think they've yet to release a complete duffer as far as I'm concerned. Saw em' live several years back, just as good as you might expect.

Check out the Blancmange album, think it might be up your street :)

Shooting Guns – Nosferatu Live Score. What it says on the tin, 90 mins of live music designed to accompany a showing of the silent vampire classic. Nice, but doesn’t really survive the transition from soundtrack to album in its own right. https://shootingguns.bandcamp.com/album/nosferatu-live-score

VA – Creeping Cinquefoil. Fifth anniversary retrospective from the Buried Treasure label. Hadn’t really heard any of their stuff before (other than The Delaware Road tie-in compilation), and much of it is, as their name suggests, re-discovered library music – some excellent examples herein, such as: https://buriedtreasure.bandcamp.com/track/tribal-warfare-2 However, they also release new, library-influenced stuff too. Cool track featuring Alan Moore: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvLWWG6BA-w

Electric Retro Spectrum – Sub-Urban

Adam Stone & Dead Sea Apes – Warheads

XXL – Puff O’Gigio

Alison Cotton – All Is Quiet At The Ancient Theatre

You Tell Me – s/t

Maarja Nuut & Ruum – Muunduja

Gabor Szabo – Dreams. This and the Nuut were indeed soundtracks to my dreams, as I dozed off during both. However, that shouldn’t be construed as a criticism, more a reflection on my advancing years!

VA – To The Outside Of Everything. Had this post-punk boxset sitting around for a while without playing it. Only got to halfway through CD 2 so far, but it is packed with brilliant tracks from bands who could barely play to proggers in disguise. CD 1, track 1, a hell of a start: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7l1OX4EnGfU
