It's electro really, and it gives me a serious nostalgia glow. Puts me in my mind of early Irdial releases, those times when this kind of dance music was underground and young. When the edges of the scene embraced it's freedom and experimented, and Chicago House grooves could be heard played on and through the most unlikeliest of kits and production styles. Harks back to the pretemplate, subscribed and proscribed, genre sounds.

Yes, it has claves though, lovely, lovely claves. All the more beautiful for their sparing use.
