i just feel mixed after reading all this about the new lp. I haven't been able to really stomach much of the revolutionary/black sheep things. I actually just got Rite Bastard a few weeks ago from HH as for some reason its magically re-appeared again. i kind of wish JC would do a whole album which is Ritely influenced and call it one of his regular releases. When he puts himself in the "Rite" mind i totally dig it.

Wow. Now I have no idea what to expect. I just ordered mine. Are there any samples online to listen to in the meantime?

Well I am again reminded why I love Julian Cope so much! After a couple dozen listens this album has revealed a depth and a subtlety at first almost completely hidden. Thus my rather skeptical comments in my earlier post (page 6). NOW: SUPERB - YET ANOTHER MASTERPIECE FROM THE, THAT'S THE, THE THEEE: DRUDE!

'The Armenian Genocide' is an impressive song indeed! Although the vibe/subject is really heavy, i've played it a lot recently (probably ten times more than the rest of the album. even though the whole thing has suckered me in..). And it got me educating myself more on that particularly shameful piece of (in)human history... Respect for the Drude for, not only attempting to make the song, but pulling it off as well! And weirdly (and somewhat fittingly) the next song on my itunes is 'Shrine Of The Black Youth'...

I've ordered it, to be honest I'm not expecting too much, I wasn't blown away with the last one but I always live in hope that there's going to be an album of Cope's that I actually like nowadays. Don't get me wrong I know an artist can't dwell on one or two albums but the last one just seemed a bit half arsed for me.
