I too was there previously. I had to photograph the signs to the library in there. You just can't begin to comprehend just how the excitement of that compared to seeing Julian Cope singing and strumming in the same venue two months later.

Yes, really good images. Thanks for sharing (if I haven't said already).

Hope everyone loved our beautiful venue - we'd love to hear your thoughts on the place as we are realy keen to put on more shows like this so it would be good to have feedback about your experiences.

(ps - all of the hi-res images are available to download free from the Flickr pages)

Hi John

The gig was great, and as an ex-council employee I can hand on heart say it was by far the best time I've ever had in the Braithewaite Hall. More shows in the venue would be welcome, even when Croydon had the Cartoon it still struggled to attract decent live acts. The acoustics in there were great, does the fairly strict attitude towards capacity also apply to the volume - ie, is it likely to be acoustic acts only, or can we hope to see a Sunn O))) show there sometime soon!?

There's a review of the show in the Croydon Advertiser, if someone can explain how to upload photos I'll be happy to put up a scan (I'll confess to having a vested interest in doing this as I wrote the review, but hopefully it will be on interest to some of you).
