they probably were the second biggest rock band in britain in the early seventies. more number one singles than zep

I thought Led Zep released NO UK singles at all, at their time anyway.

Probably been quite a few retrospective chart entries I imagine.

The sweet would be sweet. I think there's still two of them left so it should count.

Indeed they didn't, that's why most post was SO hilarious. Or not....

One hit single, Whole Lotta Love reached number 21 in 1997, thats it.

I don't think there even has to be one one of them left for it to count:-)

Doh! Moment for me, aplogies.
I don't get the beef with Slade.
They made the most overrated Xmas single ever (Wizzard and Elt's are much better) and those 'melancholy' tunes remind me of the crap Leo Sayer wrote for Roger blimmin Daltrey.
The only thing they got going for them is how unsexy they are.
Noddy Holder's really stupid too and it annoys me, dunno why.
I did quite like the Salde In Flame movie though, was quite a dark little story.

Oh, sorry. I was skim reading, again.
Well, it's almost certainly The Bay City Rollers, then.

They're still going, I believe! Mind you it'll be Deep Purple version 325...

Lol! Version 8 (or arguably 9 I think), akcherly!

They got back together in 1984 (the second line-up, for the 2nd time!)
