Wow, that's a pretty complete review of the various ROM versions. Will have to search it out now won't I. Sadly only got the CD version of Chrome Box, so seem to have a much truncated version.

Have you heard of A.R.E. Weapons? Whenever I hear them they always remind me of Chrome(lite) with a touch of Suicide and a hint of Electric Eels, albeit put through a huge skuzz pop mincer. You may enjoy some of their output.

Yes you will! Believe me, ROM is sufficient reward for your efforts, the gift that keeps on giving. That being said, discogs tells me that the "No Humans Allowed" CD will leave you little change from £50. Get back to me if you have major obstacles; payback for the recommendation of Spiral Insana!

I will check out A.R.E. Weapons asap - a new name to me. Anything approaching the majesty of Chrome is worth investigating. Other recommendations in the same vein would be the Subzone album, "Paranoid Landscape"

...and Newagehillbilly "White Walls"

This is a dificult one, isn't it? But I'm sure a list of weird music posted here as examples can be a good thing for all the weird sound lovers in this forum...

I'd say... Caetano Veloso's "Araçá Azul".

Strange House in the Snow by a little known band from the late70s/early80s post-punk era called The Teardrop Explodes immediately comes to mind.

Also, Thrashing Shit's acapella version of Frankie's Relax!

:o)

Something that inexplicably evaded recall from my memory when this thread was live.....

Chief Pokawa - Songs For Psychos (MT6 Records) - definitively weird and downright disturbed 2 x CDr album. The Chief has issues and he's not afraid to voice them. This will appeal to very few, but it grabbed me the first time I experienced it. Probably unique.
