I'm a bit dopey me, but i've heard about 'The Mozart Effect'...makes your IQ higher.

So, what's the best classical music in the world...ever?

Will it stop me being a cretin?

the main problem with classical music is CONCENTRATION.

i fully recommend any of the following:

Bach Mass in B-minor
Bruckner Symphony #2 in C-minor
Debussy Les Préludes
Palestrina Missa Sine Nomine
Mozart Requiem (highlights)
Mussorgsky Pictures at an Exhibition
Stravinsky The Rite of Spring
Machaut Le Messe de Notre Dame
Bach The Art of Fugue (played on piano)
Liszt Piano music
Handel Messiah (see Requiem)
Messiaen Diptyque for Organ
Stockhausen Kontakte
Elgar Cello Concerto
Schoenberg Piano music

that's my top 15 classical pieces, for what it's worth.

(just - like, literally - finished writing a book about exactly your question!)

hosanna in the highest,,

emerson lake and powell - brilliant era, brilliant line-up, brilliant that it didn't go on too long.
