I think it's that EH have been vacillating about what to do about the big holes in the hill for a very long time (see all these threads
http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/forum/?s_id=30
and the least people think they should do is be open and honest about what's being done at the moment. EH supposed to be working for us and the best interests of the hill and all that.
so people are feeling a bit irritable when they feel things are going on behind closed doors

OK thats not too impressive. Btw, I expect you guys know of other mounds suspected of being similar to Silbury hill - Malborough mound is best known after Silbury. There is also a suspicious and very large (possibly 2nd to Silbury) in Lewis, Sussex - O wonder what that is (never excavated as far as I know)

Theres a lot more to come Goff.
I was given a tour around today behind the scenes and people are very busy and working to a schedule.
Once the Atkinson infill is taken out there will be a lot more for EH to show the public.
The live webcam feed to the visiter center has been abandoned as it was getting in the way but EH are considering my request to put the Dvd that is on show in the visiters center online.

I notice that they've "re-located the ditch". Where have they put it? How do you store a ditch? ;)

yes, it opened on the 24th.

The dvd is a mixture of the BBC Chronicles footage with new footage and a voice over by Julian Richards.
EH hope to update it as the work unfolds.
