I've been visiting this site for about 3 years but only started posting on the forum in the last 12 months. Mostly, I've found it welcoming and very community spirited and even though I managed to avoid all of the TMAers who were on Lewis in June when I was (accidently, that is!), the fact that I could've met up with some of you, was great.

On my recent trip to Ireland, I met up with ryaner and had the most fantastic few hours in his company, something that wouldn't have happened without this forum.

BUT....I do find some of the threads tedious beyond belief and I think I was surprised that a community of folks who shared a love of prehistoric sites, archaeology and ancient history could get so het up and downright wanky with each other, at times. I keep away from the threads which don't interest me (other than to put my matronly voice on and tell you all to behave occasionally!) and contribute to those which do. Seems like a sensible way to go about things to little old me ;-)
