I like Heritage Action at least as much as Heritage Alliance, personally. The strapline's about as good as we've had so far too. Nice one grrrr. Still think there's summat even better out there tho!!!!!

All very well, but we're not expressing our specific PREHISTORIC/BA area of interest are we?

'Heritage' could be about Victorians, Vikings, Saxons, hellfire, even R*mans!!!

I think we have to get the word 'Ancient' or 'Prehistory' in there.

Forgot to say why I say Save Our Stones,

It has urgency, also a plea, also is it's own strap line, also says stones, but there is a hole now I think, it doesn't include monuments like henges etc.

This is where ES's setting parameters first would have its advantages!!!

Nigel wasn't sure whether he wanted to limit it to 'our' stuff.

I think we should, personally - it's what we're all interested in and the stuff that seems to me most often abused.

Yes, of course it should be limited to 'our' stuff... I thought that was implicit in the original post.

I would certainly risk arrest for protesting about the destruction of Thornborough, but I certainly wouldn't for some tedious 19th century narrow gauge branch line station building. Both are our heritage, though which is why we have to use the word Ancient or Prehistoric, IMHO.

I'm only interested in "our" stuff as well, I was just thinking 20 years ahead :) when it's the focus for all Conservation :) :) ....
It might be good to have a catch-all name, even though for now it's just concerned with ancient stuff. Links are so good for driving traffic and alerting Google. But I really don't have any strong feelings on the subject. If most people prefer to include Ancient etc that's fine by me.

"Action" is very good. Neatly sets the agenda.

Not at all. It's a bloody stupid word ... FULL STOP!

It was invented by people who 'brainstorm' and 'do breakfast' and who work in 'Human Resources' (listen folks .... it's PERSONEL !!!!) and have meetings etc ....

SOS is certainly snappy, but it has a couple of obvious problems...

a) It sort of excludes sites like Thornborough which have no stones.
b) It's such a common acronym that anyone searching for it on the Web would be swamped by other stuff.
