Sounds a bit like an unholy union between The National Trust and English Heritage... shiver... You can only use Trust if it is an actual registered Trust. Heritage Action Collective (HAC) ???

Amusingly so, but too respectable sounding. Agree about 'group' tho. My original suggestion for a strapline was 'Caring about the past'. How about 'Protecting our past', or 'Working to protect our past'. love Moth

for the future Is great, yet I personally feel these monuments to be living breathing 'things', Avebury for instance isn't just a relic, it's a part of our heritage, and shapes peoples lives today, so the 'past' is finished in many eyes, especially developers, my vote is we keep our heritage alive in the way we speak of it and conserver it. 'Preserve' sounds like something in aspic, whilst 'Protect' sounds actively beneficial. Words, words words! "Late have I loved you, O Beauty, ever ancient, ever new"

Nah... you're getting confused with the People's Union of Soviet Hippies. It's all getting a bit Judean Peoples Front isn't it!! Action for Heritage - with the strap line 'Protecting Our Past For The Future' or thereabouts?

"Historic places help us understand who we are as well as the meaning of our accomplishments and shortcomings." Similarly, the current President of the National Trust for Historic Preservation Richard Moe, has recently stated that "what preservation is all about" is passing on the knowledge of "who we are, where we came from and what is the legacy that shapes and enriches us" (Moe 2001). http://www.riverwestcurrents.org/2002/November/000274.html Above link to a pertinent article discussing many of the things we face/consider
