I've now recalled that the satellite system is STARLINK all launched by SpaceX. If you choose to, there are online links to track their progress from a given location.

Thanks again, I shall take a look.
Crazy.
I do love to see unusual things in the night sky..(even though on this occasion it might not be ‘all good’ in some sense)...but then just looking up into a starry night sky..man that’s freaky..I mean where exactly are we?
Surprised to see a clear sky last night over the uk.
The lights I saw passed through Orion.. in between its belt and the upper two stars.

Now looks like it's following similar track to that of the Great Comet of 1844 which was more visible in the southern hemisphere. Still, should see something.. quite a good 'un nonetheless.
