I dunno, I think he was on to something. There just hasn't been someone who has tried to apply those theories to the icons of the second half of the twentieth century, but that's coming. I'm sure of it. I should add that I don't think Warhol ever quite understood exactly what he wrought, but that's actually good - too much self-awareness, like too much self-consciousness, is, IMO, the enemy of good art. Both of the above are responsible for the so-called ironic crap that's been ruining popular culture for the last decade-plus. xxoo 'patra

that's funny that's exactly what I thought while i was waiting fior the message to clear. AW came up on a thread elsewhere about bad hairpieces. The thought somebody had was that he made his so obvious that people thought it was just a weird haistyle instead of a faulty attempt to make him look like he still had hair. Always did like those coke bottles and that idea of letting everybody in the Factory be him if they answeree the phone. Stevo
