just MHO but i think Kazaa is as a lot easier to use for first time song thieves than soulseek and youll probably end up with more music

I just got rid of kazaa, and put soulseek on instead. It was more complex and confusing, but now that I've got used to it, I've found that it has no pop ups or spyware, is fantastic for rarer genres of music, and has a less snide userbase.

You can get many mac Kazaa clients. Dunno what's "best". I use Limewire to access the Gnutella newtork, which can be laborious to find anything not Radiohead or Eminem. Apparently there is a Soulseek client for OS X but it involves serious unix command line stuff to install, so I haven't tried yet.
