Hi folks, sorry about the long gap!

Loads and loads of stuff played here, but I had a mammoth filing session and put it all away, so I can't remember it all!

Joy Division - Closer
Sandy Denny - Sandy

Little Feat - Waiting for Columbus
Been playing lots of Little Feat in the hot weather. Enjoyed this a lot as I hadn't played it in a long time.

Thin Lizzy - Bad Reputation
Thin Lizzy - Black Rose
Had a bit of a Lizzy thing lately too. Catching up on some of the albums I hadn't heard before back in the day.

Same with the Moody Blues...
Long Distance Voyager
Strange Times
Octave
Caught Live +5
The Present

Osibisa - S/T

Vinyl:

Fairport Convention - The Story Of
Richard and Linda Thompson - First Light

A Certain Ration - To Each...
Been playing this to death. I'd forgotten how good it is.

Psychedelic Furs - S/T and Talk Talk Talk
Charlie Parker - Now's The Time

Myrrors - Burning Circles in The Sky
This sounds ace in hot weather!

Culto Al Condor - Templos
Top space rock from Peru.

10,000 Russos - S/T
Stevie Wonder - Innervisions

Lots of new stuff…

Crippled Black Phoenix – Great Escape. Latest album from Floydian gloom merchants. You sometimes wish for a change of pace/mood, but it’s still a pretty impressive work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGC6444NMj8

Alexander Tucker – Don’t Look Away. Much prefer AT’s solo stuff to Grumbling Fur. Much the same here as on previous albums ie. moonage folktronica, but that’s not a criticism: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p2bkKrQkfFY

Orions Belte – Mint. Laid-back library psych from yet another Norwegian jazz/rock crew: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uV6mrRj4CZg

Hawkwind – Road To Utopia. Ah, the HW acoustic album. Except they let Mike ‘Wombling Free’ Batt and Eric ‘Enoch Was Right’ Clapton into the studio as well, much to the consternation of some Hawkfans. In truth, there’s a lot here you’d never want to hear again, but ‘The Watcher’ and ‘Down Through The Night’ are actually rather great.

Soft Machine – Hidden Details. The first ‘official’ SM album in 37 years (though there’s been loads of ‘might-as-well-be-SM’ albums in the interim), and blimey, much like the revamped Gong, it’s a bit of a killer: https://softmachine-moonjune.bandcamp.com/album/hidden-details-hd

Møster! – States Of Minds. Two CDs worth of avant jazz skronk, featuring Motorpsycho people. Large sections of “get on with it!” punctuated by some frustratingly cool stuff.

Matthew Shaw – InsideOutside. Nice drone by HH parish dweller: https://texlahoma.bandcamp.com/album/inside-outside

Plinth – Music For Smalls Lighthouse. Liked this a lot more on second listen, requires proper attention: https://iamplinth.bandcamp.com/album/music-for-smalls-lighthouse

Gryphon – Raindances. Repackaging of first four albums. I had somehow never heard Gryphon before this. It’s as you’d expect – a bit too hey-nonny-nonny in places, but much to warm the heart of any 70s prog fan: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S08vAfuJTdc

Ooh interesting - might have to check out the Soft Machine. I love the Gryphon I've heard, would be interested to hear more, despite the folderolls!

No a lot this week.

Liars - 1/1 OST
Liars do a rather fine soundtrack. Not sure the movie will be my cup of tea (guy kidnaps actress and tries to make her love him, or something), but apparently director changed some of the scenes to fit the music, so I guess that's high praise fer the band. Licorice - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBw3dCNAYpc

Cecilia - Adoration
Creepy electronics and buried voices type thang. Enjoyed it more than I expected tbh. https://soundcloud.com/halcyon-veil/sets/cecilia-adoration

DOPE - Village Idiot Dope
Only listened a few times so far, but doesn't grab me as much as Guerilla Grow or Dope on Drugs did.

Black Tempest - Enfolding Light
Great Tangsian electronics from Squid Tempest.
https://blacktempest.bandcamp.com/album/enfolding-light

Various - Space Rock, An Interstellar Traveller's Guide.
Quite a lot of stuff that's new to me on this, alongside the usual suspects. Worth the price for the wonderful 12 minute Faust track 'Parasiten', which looks like it's only available on this and some film OST.
Full Album - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=10iaMF1GWIs
Parasiten - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAu9ZKRVEyU

Enjoyed the Suzanne Ciani bit of the Proms, along with the 'Delian Mode' intro, but the rest of the 'homage' to radiophonica didn't do much for me tbh.
Suzanne Ciani - Improv in Four Sequences - https://www.bbc.co.uk/events/ebzcd4/play/ahmb3d/p06fnqp0
Delian Mode - https://www.bbc.co.uk/events/ebzcd4/play/ahmb3d/p06fykhk

Well, that's about it, have a good week.

Supertramp - Breakfast In America
IQ - Dark Matter
Caravan - Caravan
Caravan - Waterloo Lily
Frost - Falling Satalite
The Grateful Dead - The Grateful Dead
The Beatles - A Hard Day's Night
The Beatles - With The Beatles

Oh and last Friday I saw Acid Mothers Temple in Penryn, it was the fourth time I have seen them and they were tight as heck and played an utterly storming set hurrah!
