Arena - Double Vision (Picked this up last weekend on a whim, first listen left me a bit cold but I gave it another go and I love it, fairly heavy neo prog with lots of great melodies)

Riverside - Love Fear and The Time Machine
Flower Kings - Banks Of Eden

Hawthonn - Red Godess (Phil Legard used to post on this forum, this is his and Layla's latest release and as far as I am concerned the best music he has ever been involved with, at times makes me think of a more rural Coil)

Chris Robinson Brotherhood - Barefoot In The Head
ZZ Top - Deguello
The Bevis Frond - Inner Marshland
The Soft Machine - The Soft Machine

Yes - The Yes Album
Yes - Fragile (And to think when I first used to post here I would claim to despise Yes, now I adore them. Nothing else really sounds quite like them)

Monolord - Rust
Goatsnake - Flower of Disease
Miles Davis - Filles De Kilimanjaro
Ten Years After - Ssssh.
The Beatles - With The Beatles
The Byrds - Ballad Of Easy Rider
Charles Mingus - Ah Um

Paul Weller - Wild Wood
The Grid - Doppelganger
Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
Sleaford Mods - English Tapas

Sniff n the Tears - Fickle Heart

The current weather gave me a romanticised hankering for the '89 Convertible Chrysler Lebaron I had in Metro Detroit in the mid-90s, driving along Lake St Clare & the road trip down to New Orleans & back. Nothing comes close to awesome opener Driver's Seat but all still enjoyable, albeit driving at walking pace towards the bowels of Hanger Lane Underpass.

Covered some miles this week, had to pick up the youngest from uni and drop her to her summer outdoor centre job (with a pre dawn/5a.m. mooch along the Ridgeway from Hackpen down to Delling, which was nice). Also finally cashed in my glider flight over the Midlands, some stunning views and crazy turbulence, but enjoyed it immensely. Today was a 5 miler through some beautiful Warwickshire woodland. Sounds on the various travels were....

Datashock - Pyramiden Von Gießen
Perfect drawn out moments fer this hot spell (esp if you have difficulty sleeping and and can just about manage to drift in the dark).

Braindonor - Love Peace and Fuck
Some wonderfully propulsive tracks on this rock n roll monster. Great fer hot weather motoring.

L.A. Hellgang - Thru me Again
Groovy 'Darkside-esue' guitar moments

Psychic Ills - Hazed Dream
Another hot weather dreamy fuzz out.

John Foxx - Metamatic

Queens of the Stoneage - R-Rated, Songs for the Deaf.
Prob my fav' QOTSA albums.

Bowie - Scarey Monsters/Alladin Sane/Low

Moon Duo - Occult Architecture V1

Acid King - Busse Woods

Black Mountain - In The Future
I just adore adore the whole sound and vibe of Wucan... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8upxRhff7cE

That's about it, have a great week.

Café Kaput – Applied Music vol 2: Plastics Today. It’s that man Jon Brooks again. Slightly ‘straighter’ than his Advisory Circle stuff, but perhaps more immediately enjoyable than the last AC album if radiophonic electronica is your thing: https://cafekaput.bandcamp.com/album/applied-music-vol-2-plastics-today

The Advisory Circle – Belbury Radio 18: Ways Of Listening. And here he is once more… https://www.mixcloud.com/GhostBox/radio-belbury-18-ways-of-listening/

Plinth – Music For Smalls Lighthouse. Latest from the excellent Clay Pipe label, though apparently a re-release. Drifty neo-classical sounds, not that gripping on first listen, but not unpleasant: https://iamplinth.bandcamp.com/album/music-for-smalls-lighthouse

Gravenhurst – The Ghost In Daylight. Oof, some random late night listening that’s brought back some memories of the tough patch I was going through when it came out. And inevitably, thoughts of Nick Talbot’s untimely death also makes this a difficult if still beautiful listen, particularly this spine-tinglingly brilliant track: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=U4n5NG3VgAg

Dungen - 4

Kraftwerk – The Mix. Ahem, my first KW album, still love it, particularly the version of ‘Radioactivity’: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=QAGCVYDJHss

Lesiman – The Future Sound Of… Top notch 70s Italian library sounds, highly recommended: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=knFO1_OSl3g

Listen With Father:

The Police – Greatest Hits. One of the girl’s friends (or rather her parents) always does a mix CD for her birthday, and as a result, dubious ode to a prostitute ‘Roxanne’ has become a firm favourite. Sting may have become, well, Sting, but those early singles are still pretty tremendous.

The Vinyl Countdown – H / I:

The Hollow Men – The Man Who Would Be King. Indie lite-psych band from Leeds who were coming from a similar place as the early Stone Roses. Not normally a recommendation chez Fatalist, but there's a few nice tunes here, though funnily enough, the singer is also quite badly flat in places. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=92qYO64S_dk

Invaders Of The Heart – Without Judgement. First album from Jah Wobble collective, a far cry from the more new age raver stuff he would go on to do. This is sinewy dub exotica, the soundtrack to late nights in edge city. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=jNlwnSZemyg
