Ty Segall...sounds like?

Anyone familiar with Ty Segall?
He’s a young guy and makes great & crazy garage-psych not unlike Thee Oh Sees.
I’ve always “kind of” liked him….BUT then his new CD dropped and like turned to love.
There were only 2 “clunkers” (Rain being one…too slow & pointless for me).
The other tracks ROCK!
Opening track “Fanny Dog” was haunting me for weeks…the vocal reminded me of something, but I couldn’t pin it down….Until now.
Listen to the track and let me know if you think his voice sounds like the guy on Piss Station by Daterape (a track I love).

Yeah, don't mind a bit of Ty, my missus is nuts fer em' though. I think she digs that they can be melodic as well as kick ass (she sure does love a heavy riff!). Most albums contain a few clunkers, but their hit rate is pretty good on the whole.

Ty Segall is amazing. I would say that Thee Oh Sees are boring and prog-ish in comparison! I would recommend his albums Emotional Mugger and Manipulator. grade A blister-garage.

Only just seen this. I've listened to a fair bit of his prodigious output the last few years, really like his sound. agree the new one is ace! Couldn't stop listening to it for some time after I got it. Wish I'd got it on vinyl rather than CD actually as it is a bit long to digest in one chunk, and I reckon it'd suit the vinyl format.

There's a big T.Rex influence. He's even made an album of Bolan covers (which splits opinions on the Bolan fanbase!!)
