Our Solar System – Origins. More Scandinavians plunging headlong into the jazz rock cosmic void. Intense and at times pretty arresting: https://oursolarsystem.bandcamp.com/album/origins

Alex Crispin – Open Submission
Alex Crispin & Nicholas Whittaker – Irian Jaya. Two albums of new age-y ambient stuff from Baron (RIP) head honcho. A bit ECM light in places, but this is great: https://soundcloud.com/constellationtatsu/alex-crispin-open-submission-1

Ben Chatwin – Staccato Signals. Electro-orchestral soundscapes which would benefit immensely from being played at the same time as some Interstellar-ish piece of sci-fi, though I appreciate you could say that about a lot of this kind of stuff: https://benchatwin.bandcamp.com/album/staccato-signals

Hanterhir – The Saving Of Cadan. I only listened to half of this, but that still took about a week, as it’s a quadruple concept album about Cornish pixies or something by a local prog/folk/hippie collective… and some of it is really rather good, like if Levitation had got it together in the country…

The 4th Movement – s/t. This is great, Christian rock album from 1980 by the guys previously known as Death – ‘Kumbaya My Lord’ it ain’t: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wiKR8tSZOE0

VA – Winds Of Time – NWOBHM 1979-1985 CD1. What can I say? I have a soft spot for badly recorded, overwrought and generally quite trebly metal from the early 80s. I’m guessing that the three CDs in this boxset are arranged thematically, as this first one was quite, umm, melodic to my ears. Some clunkers, but also some super stuff, including this fab glam stomper from Angelwitch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQGHzG6jrCY
