Dead Sea Apes - Lupus and Astral House. One of the better psych bands around at the moment, methinks.

OCS - 3 & 4. Some great packaging on this - the songs are ok.

Beth Orton - Kidsticks

Nearly God Project featuring Tricky, Terry Hall etc.

Mogwai - Ten Rapid and EP + 6. Material dredged from early on which is my fav period of theirs.

Ozric Tentacles - Waterfall Cities

Om - Conference of the Birds. Really dug the psych minimalism of this, this time round

Rachel Newton - The Shadow Side

The Mummers - Mink Hollow Road

Nirvana Unplugged in New York. I have great difficulty working out the import to Kurt's lyrics. Never really bothered me before. Some great tunes, mind - natch.

Mansun - 6. Still find this a harrowing listen no matter how acclaimed it might be.

Neu - Neu

Gris-Gris – Dr John
Remedies – Dr John
Gumbo – Dr John
Babylon – Dr John
I'd always liked what I'd heard by Dr John and had been meaning to check him out more thoroughly for some time, but it was only this year that I finally got round to it. I'm glad I did.

Phantom Radio – Mark Lanegan Band
Mark does Joy Divsion!

Clues – Robert Palmer
I hadn't heard this one in a long, long time. Looking For Clues. Johnny & Mary. Such great singles.

Endless Nights – Vacant Lots
This isn't going to win any prized for originality – a bit of Stones here, Velvets there, etc – but it is hugely enjoyable. And then there's that great Alan Vega appearance on the closing track.

Deutsche Elektronische Musik 3: Experimental German Rock & Electronic Music 1971-81 – V/A
Sadly this is the final instalment in this Soul Jazz series. Most of the stuff here is new to me – I particularly like the Achim Reichel track. It's like a big brother of Blurt!

NME Singles of 1994 – V/A
Lots of old singles to enjoy here – TGU, Fun-da-mental, Underworld, Pulp, etc. And Girls & Boys is such a classic pop single.

Also...
Safe As Milk – Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band

Morning / Evening - Four Tet
New Energy - Four Tet

S/T - Fujiya & Miyagi

Boot Power – Mungo Jerry

In Between – Ocsid

S/T – The Pretenders

The High Road – Roxy Music

S/T - Stealers Wheel
Ferguslie Park - Stealers Wheel

Pure Mania – The Vibrators

Big Sensations (Mojo cd) – V/A

The Fall - Reformation Post TLC
The Fall - Ersatz GB (I have been listening to late era Fall and have been enjoying it more than ever, this and the above album are both great!)
The Fall - Perverted By Language
The Fall - Hex Enduction Hour

Barclay James Harvest - Time Honoured Ghosts (Cheapy vinyl purchase, lots of warm comforting meodies, I really enjoy this)

Coil - Horse Rotorvator (Probably my favourite Coil album, nothing else sounds anything like it nor does it invoke such feelings)

RIP - In The Wind

Marillion - Season's End
Marillion - FEAR (Still love this one, I'm really looking forward to seeing them in Bristol next month)

Iron Man - Black Night

Retep Folo – Galactic Sounds. Lovely stuff, highly recommended for fans of Broadcast, Pram, Belbury Poly etc: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_8LoJG2NSI&list=PLTAJGd7H-F2zb6b2LPc2khnoxA_qdqRW4&index=3&t=0s

National Jazz Trio Of Scotland – Standards vol. IV. Really got into this on second listen, a bit like if later period Talk Talk had decided to become a pop band again, and Kate Sugden’s voice is wonderful. Those with a constant buzzing in their ears (I’m guessing most of us) may like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m9XjK6FwRP4

Slug – Higgledy Piggledy. Eeh, it’s a bit too clever this. Frustratingly so, as there’s some great bits, but that not-quite-falsetto voice thing gets a bit grating after a while.

VA – Brown Acid: The Sixth Trip. More obscure ‘70s US proto-metal singles. Nothing that revelatory, though aficionados of the period will be interested perhaps to hear the first Truth And Janey single: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QzgqEaFycUs

VA – Revolution Blues. Mojo comp. Usual mixed bag, but having never really delved into her oeuvre, I was pretty psyched by this Yoko Ono track: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kVMp7M0rdE

Listen With Father:

Siouxsie & The Banshees – Once Upon A Time. Now a reliable stand-by. I often think, how come these songs still sound so brilliant, when nearly all of the bands who took the same components sounded so mehhh in comparison?
