Don't Take Roots

Listened to this today for the first time in ages

Reminded how much I love it.

Only two minutes but two minutes of perfection, who else could sing 'my mystic hole is shooting at you'?

That is perfection

I don't know the Cope song, is it a cover of the Faust track?

Could somehow be inspired, but sounds nothing like it.

It's on 20 Mothers, but not a cover of the Faust tune, just one of the many examples of Cope using an existing song title and writing his own song around it eg;

Don't Take Roots (Faust)
Soul Desert (Can)
The Death & Resurrection Show (Killing Joke)
Shot Down (The Sonics)
The Death of Rock and Roll (Todd Rundgren)
Easter Everywhere (Elevators though just an album title)

A beautiful track - great Mellotron and vocals. In the booklet for the cd he credits Faust, the Elevators, the Spades and Stevie Wonder's Innervisions sleeve. (3rd eye)
