I went but missed the last act as I must have either misread the website or they'd made a mistake. I swear it stated 7-10pm, so I assumed it was a short opera with one interval. I needed to catch the last train from Hamburg and didn't get home till 4.30am, but my efforts were nothing compared to Hannigan's!

I'm glad I went. It was my first major modern concert and I enjoyed it very much. It took until the end of Act I for me to settle into it - I was more intrigued than blown away, initially. I have since read critics' takes of this version and others. I liked the dream-like nature of this performance, with the performers somewhat detached and unanimated, excepting Lulu: to say I was impressed with Hannigan's physical feats is an understatement! The major disappointment was having to leave early. I actually would have liked it to have gone on for days. I don't think it will be my last visit to a modern concert. Thanks!
