Tom Waits - Raindogs. Several times in fact. Lovin the jazzy Beefheartian arrangements. In fact this is the best I've heard it sound. S'pose it is Beefheartian as he did it first, right? Cue someone saying that it is all just labels, but I find it helpful when describing things. Underworld - 100 days off Teeth of the Sea - Master Two Lone Swordsmen - Tiny Reminders Jenny Hval & Suzanna - Meshes of Voice Darkher - Realms. My description of this is going to be as follows: not quite.

Beebon wrote: Hawkwind - The Machine Stops (Last year's effort and I must say wow! To be honest I hadn't previously bothered checking out any post 70s Hawkwind thinking it would be a bit bland but this is fantastic. Must read the novella it is based on next...) Great innit?! Very much the best they've done in years!

Was just watching the Tom Waits doc on BBC4, and when they started talking about Swordfishtombones I said to our son that this was the point Captain Beefheart entered the equation.
