I was thinking about him the other day. A fantasic individual. Now he has to deal with death like the rest of us now.

A very unique guitar player. His fingers died from cancer!

I think my fave guitar player who lost his nails was Andy Gill from Gang of Four. Really Scary.

Look at the lasting damage an abusive adult does to a child. His Dad's death has obviously not truly freed him. Heartbreaking.

Well I thought that was great. Now on a hunt to identify where all the clips came from.

I thought that there were waaaaay too many of them and, for me at least, it distracted and detracted somewhat. Without sitting through it all again on I-player and just off the top of my head:

Tarkovsky: The Mirror, Stalker (used these loads)

Paradjanov: Shadows of Our Forgotten Ancestors, The Color Of Pomegranates

Luis Buñuel: Simon of the Desert

Ingmar Bergman: The Seventh Seal

F.W. Murnau: Nosferatu

Powell and Pressburger: A Matter of Life and Death

Probably some other bits in there too ... I kind of had it on in the background while I was doing something else for about the first half of it.

Tarkovsky - Stalker and that Field In England from a couple of years ago. I enjoyed it but could feel the same in a different mood.
