Quietus overview of Einsturzende Neubauten

Is an overview of Einsturzende Neubauten's back catalogue focusing on one significant track per release. ^& has links to the songs in question.

One of my all time favourite bands to a point, though i've dropped away from listening to more recent stuff. Which might be something I should remedy, I don't know.
But I do love the classic/first stable line up that cut the first load of lps. Not sure if itwas actually stable by the time of the first lp Kollaps but the next 5 lps are by pretty much the same line up and Ende Neu is about half by that one but a couple of members left during its recording.

I think the next line up which has been pretty stable since the late 90s is pretty decent but just isn't quite as dangerous possibly. Plus it has lead to Blixa not playing lead guitar any more and he is one of my favourite guitarists.

Cheers for that. 35 years, bloody hell! I've been following them for about 28 or so. I feel ooooollllddd :(

Ditto with the Swans Filth reissue. Remember owning the LP and 'Raping A Slave' EP on vinyl (and paying a small fortune back in the day on a couple of badly pressed imports). Cop is still my fav' though, if only for the rememberance of ear splitting gigs and the Gira/Westburg onstage intensity that supported it over here.
If I'm honest, I've kept abreast of their career, but not really enjoyed anything much post 'World Of Skin' albums. Saw them on the 'Burning World' tour before hearing the record and was decidedly unimpressed. Still my least fav' Swans release. Can't quite undertand the mountain of praise heaped on em' these days, as I find their sound quite pedestrian in comparison to those brutal and uncompromising early releases.

Well the last time I saw them in Buffalo I thought they still had it.
