Popel Vooje wrote: The Only Ones' Peel sessions are not just great in their own right, but superior to their albums in many ways. Same goes for the Gang of Four. Fairpoort Convention's "Top Gear" sessions (as collected on "Heyday") include some great renditions of American folk/rock songs that Joe Boyd didn't want them to release on their own records because he thought they should emphasize their Englishness.
I'll second all three of those. The Bogshed sessions are also highly recommended, though you'll have to do a blogspot search to find 'em as they are (for the time being) officially unreleased. Likewise, the work of the wonderful Stump.
