The Necks play Eno - live
May 23, 2015, 04:00
London date (again) - 26th Sept, Barbican. 'Transcender - Discrete and Oblique: the music of Brian Eno'. A few other musicians with them. I expect another date or two to be added. Reckon a return to Brighton's overdue.... just wish somewhere near me too http://www.thenecks.com

Very tempted by the London Eno show, although a couple of factors put me off, not least the cost. By the time you factor in the ticket price and the cost of my travel to London, it's an expensive do. Also, I'm a little disappointed it isn't just the Necks performing. I wonder if the addition of other players might over-power the magic formula that makes the trio so special. I might just wait for the 'proper' Necks tour later in the year. Hopefully they'll play in the north - I've seen them in Leeds and Halifax before now, and they play the Sage quite a bit.

I'd still see them in an expanded setting, they've done it before with an Eno project. I think there were/are clips from that on youtube. London's beyond me logistically/circs/doshwise, so yup, waiting for another northern one and hoping they don't split or someone comes a cropper meantime. New studio album out soon, and there's a live one/box waiting too. Seen them Leeds twice, Manc once, a non-creepy privilege all. Have shaken hands and thanked. IF link works there are a few pix I took of the last Leeds show on my flickr page here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/kilmorybay56 sorry, not a set so scrolling required. (effing flickr, can't log in or upload any more cos its been 'improved'. Cue sustained ranting...)
