A classy pop star, responsible for some genuinely great pop records - and this excellent b-side... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qr8QxW6G4ik RIP Errol

On many occasions flawless... Brother Louie, Everyones A Winner, Could Have Been A Woman (bit unsure what the lyrical thrust of the latter was...). I feel no embarrassment in saying their XV Hits (or whatever it was called) was a much loved record back in the I-own-10-albums-or-less formative years. Cheers Errol. Not sure your "You don't remember me do you?" lyric was ever drawn from personal experience...

Yes, very sad to hear this. "Everyone's a Winner" is one of the best funk/rock hybrids of all time x

He wrote great toons. Robert Wyatt said that he had a lot of admiration for good pop songs because 'they have to take a lot of wear'. Brown composed several. I've long wanted a soul-mooded Bowie to switch into Pinups mode again and cover It Started With A Kiss. Just visualise his voice instead of Errol's. Tune. Written by a craftsman.

One of the the best HC covers. Surprising! Sisters Of Mercy - Emma - Live in London - Royal Albert Hall 1985 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMpXnvd8NDE
