Ryley Walker - any good?
Mar 31, 2015, 10:47
I just read a review of the new Ryley Walker lp Primrose Green in last month's Joni MItchell covered Uncut. It looked intriguing so I'm listening to some of it on my computer.
So far sounds like he is emulating late 60s/early 70s jazz-folk quite well.

I see that Primrose Green is his 3rd solo lp and that Uncut review talks about him having had a noise background so I'm intrigued as to what else to look for by him.

Anybody familiar with his stuff?

All Kinds of You is great - a bit more John Martyn than the new one, and less Tim Buckley. I'm loving the new one though, although I only got it yesterday. I think he's a real talent and transcends his influences.
