You may find 'EMPIRES AND DANCE' more interesting. Their third album. Plenty of Eurobeats and far more experimental than anything that they ever did. I was a card carrying member of the Simple Minds fanclub as a youth! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4V-xEyL_o0&list=PL2QT-cDQgJmNxhiOg6_nRwPZqNJnRmnaW

Yeah I got that one on vinyl. Heck I like the solid run of the first six albums generally although I'm missing two including New Gold Dream which I want. But face it, Sparkle was the first album of theirs I ever bought, although the singles from New Gold Dream were nifty enough I kinda passed over that one and I dunno why. Sparkle had "Catwalk", "On the Waterfront" -- it was different. Kind of a U2 it was OK to like (at least for me...) I know they were suck-city after "Don't You Forget About Me" although I'd like to check out the one they did with Trevor Horn that I somehow neglected also...

Not sure about the Trevor Horn one as I'd lost interest by then. I did attend the 'Waterfront' video in Glasgow Barrowland which as a youth was quite interesting. Looking back on it, it was not a great song, but a good afternoon out. Free gig though! The Horrors ref them quite a bit.
