'Kapt. Kopter and the Fabulous Twirly Birds KFPK Radio LA 13 September 1972' ..one of those semi-official Keyhole Records releases of radio broadcasts. My mate's just got it via Amazon uk, but I have'nt found any trace..but it is on pre-release on Amazon.com, and can be had in UK via http://www.grooves-inc.co.uk for just under £12 ..sorry can't do full links for either, so you'll have to do googlesearch for Am.com/Grooves-inc followed by above artist/title - but it's worth the money.

Just managed to track this down on Amazon uk - searching for artist and then title had got me nowhere: IS already available.. search for 'KFPK radio LA 13 september 1972 kapt kopter fabulous twirly birds amazon uk music'........ I had a good listen round mates the other night, and, OK, the sound is what it is, an FM broadcast from over forty years ago, but the quality of the playing should make you give in and forgive that as it's a fine live document which I really enjoyed. Ed Cassidy's drumming is in my opinion superior to Spirits live Rainbow gig offerings, and Randy's playing is similarily full of vitality and adventure. Far from the drugged up washout he was supposed to be at the time of the recording of the studio version. I'm buying my own copy without hesitation. Amazon's got it @£10-99 inc free MP3.

Cp of the tracklisting will reveal all, but I think the compression on this will be better than a boot download. Those with gear will be able to tweak a bit further, I expect, but I quite like the 'back then rad broadcast ambience'. Sonically a tad variable, but I really've got into it. Fine playing, great wigouts, a great and groovesome Downer. Really looking forward to another blast this weekend. A necessary document/missing link which I'll be glad to have.
