Julian at Village Underground
Jan 30, 2015, 12:18
Notes from last night…

Excellent set:

I'm Living In The Room They Found Saddam In
Culture Bunker
They Were On Hard Drugs
Psychedelic Revolution
Sunspots
Double Vegetation
As The Beer Flows Over Me
Liver As Big As Hartlepool
Greatness and Perfection
Cromwell in Ireland
Cunts Can Fuck Off
Pristeen
Soul Desert
Autogeddon Blues

Encore: Treason
Robert Mitchum

Very good crowd – apart from one minor heckler :)
Good mix of die-hards and the curious
JC on fine form (if a little bit 'scripted'??)

Merch stand very good with vinyl and CDs (picked up the Dayglo CD EP and a book of Mick Goodby poetry ('Juan Fluorescent (Over the Cuckoo's Nest)') – not had a thorough read but looks well worth it
One off's from Lord Yatesbury label apparently 'all sold out in a couple of minutes'

Anyone else there?

I was there too and enjoyed the evening very much. Great set, Julian in fine voice and particularly loved Psychedelic Revolution, The Culture Bunker, They Were On Hard Drugs and the fierce version of Autogeddon Blues with its rabid finale. On the merchandise stall I saw from the LY's catalogue The TX's Zoology, Julian's Odin (Re-Master) and Rite At Ya.
Good stuff from Fido X Black Sheep Sound System earlier.

Rite At Ya... Anyone pick this up? I imagine its outtakes in a Rite style, but am curious.

Fantastic night, I even liked the Heckler... who probably ensured that Julian played more music... Autogeddon Blues was fantastic and Robert Mitchum has always been a personal favorite.. It's a shame that the current 'business model' our hero has doesn't run to a band the music would sound so good with a DR Skinner or dare I say a TP Sandra.
