"David Bowie - @ The Beeb, Hunky Dory. You know I still haven't properly listened to Aladdin Sane, Diamond Dogs or Scary Monsters. Following on from last week's thread, there was too much Ziggy on the Beeb sessions and not enough TMWSTW. Didn't mind the tracks from his 2nd eponymous album (latterly known as Space Oddity). Amsterdam is not a very strong track though is it?!!!" In his defence, I think Amsterdam is a Jaque Brel song, not a Bowie penned ditti, but yeah, it deffo ain't one of my fav's, alongside his version of Alabama Song (pretentious moi!) I only really started listening to the'Space Odditty' album a year or so ago, as it really didn't push my buttons compaired to his later output. The Cygnet Committee popped up on my music player one day, and I was hooked. Alladin, Diamond Dogs and Scary Monsters all great albums worth putting the time in on. Also love the live album Stage, though the most recent is a 2Cd version, not the original single disc which, Had a better track running order, well I think so.

Solstice Vibage to all...As to music, this week, not a lot.... Krautrock - Masters and Echoes. Lazy choice of old compilation from library, which actually turns out to be not half bad. Esp Disc 2 'Echoes' (modern bands influenced by Kraut/Kosmische) Rother - Katzenmusik 8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZGXEcO_hDc Klaus Shultze - Floating -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxph3ow9gs0 John Frusciante - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XeioNBWK4QU Gravenhurst - Velvet Cell - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Elmj7wXgdVE White Rainbow -Warm Clicked Fruit- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zF9dNL1E-KM Cloudland Canyon - Lie In Light Lead track 'Krautwerk' from above compilation had me rushing out to buy Lie In Light. Not all as motorik as title track Krautwerk, but the rest has a lovely Kosmische vibe to it. Krautwerk - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ve9PBLJH0Bo Heme - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEHh7tFXr10 Cloudland Canyon - Silver Tongued Sisyphus EP Great EP, in the Kosmische vibe. http://www.beatport.com/release/silver-tongue-sisyphus/74981 Valets - Naked Acid Beautiful lofi acid rawk with a bluesey vibe from Portland hipster Holly Owens. Streets - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hC8MOYoYQk Fire - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jirmSZPS6MY NMA - Smalltown England Early singles/Mini LP and Sessions on one disc. All you need really. Running in The Rain - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHENPR5uUsY Vengence LP stream - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOzY0k0g3c8 The Police - The Police Charidee shop purchase. I loved those early Police albums when I was 11 and found a 30 track comp which luckily contains most of my fav' tracks on 2 CD's (well, disc two probably won't get much airtime, but disc one...yeah, all the way). Voices Inside My Head - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8OrMfd87Qo Bring On The Night - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bz1mEMiNPHQ Walking On The Moon - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zPwMdZOlPo8 Matt Berry - Solstice (from Kill The Wolf) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5f_3iqHpnVM That's about it. Have a great Xmas.

Thanks. I will look those out. When it comes to Brahms I have not ventured far beyond Celi, Ormandy and Abbado so these will be an interesting addition.
