Clive Palmer R.I.P. ?
Nov 24, 2014, 11:53
There's a rumour going round that Clive Palmer (Incredible String Band/C.O.B.) has died. Can't find any verification of this online, but very sad news, if it is true.

Yeah heard that from Richard Morton Jack on facebook last night.
Good innings but sad to see him go.
I really enjoyed his Empty Pocket Blues bio which came through SAF so may be difficult to get hold of now.
& the 2 lps with C.O.B. are pretty great especially the 2nd one Moyshe Mcstiff etc.

I wonder what a duo of just Williamson and Palmer might have sounded like. Going on some or the C.O.B. material, they both seemed to be the more untethered spiritual bard-like figures in the ISB family. Any fan of the latter owes it to themselves to give C.O.B.'s two albums a play.

Anything else Palmer was involved in worth hunting down?

RIP to a greatly undervalued multi-instramentalist, catalyst and real character. Still a blow despite him reaching a good age and not having been in great health for a while. Those COB records deserve much greater respect. I broke the news to my friend who produced one of his last albums.. rather knocked back.

I can only echo what everyone else has said .. that those two C.O.B lp's are fantastic and are rarely off my turntable such is the esteem and pleasure they continue to give.
Condolences to family and friends.

For those who have yet to hear them C.O.B.'s Spirit of Love and Moyshe McStiff are both on youtube. I prefer the latter but both are very fine albums that deserve far more appreciation.
